Monogram the Wall

The monogram layout is a great baby or birthday gift. It is also a perfect alternative if a new couple’s last name is long, and thus will be costly to frame.
Rules of Monogramming

The proper initials for a single individual is first name initial, larger last name initial, and middle initial (in that order). So, Susan Ashley Granger’s monogram would be SGA.
The proper initials for a couple depends on whether the bride takes the groom’s last name or not.
When the bride takes the groom’s last name, the order is the bride’s first initial (left), larger shared last name initial (center), and groom’s first initial (right). So, if Robert Miller & Jennifer Brown are getting married, the monogram would be JMR.
If the bride keeps her name, create a four-initial monogram (bride’s first, bride’s last, groom’s last, groom’s first). So, the monogram is now JBRM.
Since the monogram layout only has one larger center letter, select the multiple opening layout and purchase two smaller prints (4x6 or 5x7) for the first initials. Then, make a second order for two larger prints (5x7 or 8x10) for the last initials.
More than a Name

While most people use alpha26 letters to spell out first and last names, consider spelling:
- Welcome… for new home owners
- Learn… for a teacher
- Smile… for a dentist
- Dream… for a little girl’s bedroom
- Cook… for a kitchen
- Love… for a wedding or anniversary gift
